Marquee hire for parties, weddings and events

Marquee Hire FAQ's

For fast answers; please view the marquee hire questions below

Do you only supply the marquee?

No, we supply pretty much anything you need for your event.

We have a standard range of furnishings, decorations, flooring and lighting and through our experience of marquee-based events planning we can also put you in touch with the best local suppliers, please let us know what you need and we will do our best to help.

How long is your marquee hire period?

For weekend events the marquee is yours for both Saturday and Sunday, during the week the length of hire is by individual arrangement.

Can the marquees be opened up on warm days?

Yes, the walls can easily be opened and safely secured, we will demonstrate how you can do this when your marquee is installed.

Do we need heaters?

Sometimes even in the middle of the summer it’s useful to have a heater, so budget for one just in case and make a decision in the week leading up to your event.

Powerful heaters and hard flooring ensure warmth and a safe footing, so it’s even possible to hold a marquee event in the winter.

What is the difference  between lined and unlined marquees?

Lined marquees are more luxurious, the function of the lining is to cover the PVC walls and marquee frame. Most clients opt for a lined marquee for a wedding and an unlined marquee for functional or casual events.

How safe are your marquees?

All of the marquees we supply are constructed of fully fire resistant fabric and confirm to stringent Bsi safety standards.

We also have insurance cover.

When will you put up/take down my marquee?

Normally we erect marquees on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday before an event and we dismantle them on the following Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

However we can also accommodate special requirements in our timetable.

Can marquees be erected on uneven ground?

Yes, marquees can be put up on uneven or sloping ground and sometimes we use an adjustable platform to even out steeper slopes.

We offer a free site visit so that we can come along to your location and discuss your individual requirements.

Are your marquees storm-proof?

All of our marquees are designed to withstand 60mph winds and are securely anchored.

Can a marquee be connected to a building?

Yes, our framed marquees can serve as extensions to existing buildings and can also be used as walkways.

Will your marquee damage our garden?

Grass will be temporarily discoloured and flattened, but it swiftly recovers and we are always careful to avoid damage if flower beds are located within the marquee.

Can I hire a marquee if I don’t live in Surrey?

Yes, whilst Abinger marquee hire are the ‘favourite’ choice for marquee hire in Surrey, we hire marquees all over the south east and cover London, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Middlesex and such key towns as Ascot, Maidenhead, Newbury, Guildford, Kingston, Godalming, Esher, Reigate, Chichester, Basingstoke, Weybridge Woking and Farnham.
