Marquee hire for parties, weddings and events

Wedding Marquee Examples

A Wedding Marquee for 100 People

If you are thinking of having a wedding reception for around 100 guests, this is one example of a solution that we can offer for you.

  • One 30’ x 40’ Marquee
  • Interior linings with choice of colours
  • Matting floor throughout
  • Chandeliers or uplighters on a dimmer switch
  • Heating (cabinet heaters)
  • 10 x 5’ round tables
  • 4 x trestle tables
  • 100 x white bistro chairs
  • One16’ x 12’ parquet dance floor

A 30’ x 40’ marquee is the ideal size in that it is not too big making it feel empty or not too small making it feel over crowded. The type of marquee we use also gives you the option you to use window walls allowing you to take advantage of any views or surrounding features. If it’s a really hot day you also have the option of opening the marquee walls themselves.

On the inside of the marquee, the walls and roof are covered in beautiful linings to create that luxurious feel. We have a large selection of colours for you to choose from to go with your own individual taste. If you wanted to create something a little bit special you may want to have a twinkling night sky effect lining on the marquee.

To protect your lawn and also your guest’s shoes, matting is stretched taut across the ground and secured avoiding trip hazards to create a carpet type effect. However, sometimes this may not be suitable if the ground is dangerously uneven or if in winter where it can be permanently sodden. To combat these problems we would recommend a custom built wooden floor covered with carpet though this is considerably more expensive (A wooden floor with carpet cost approximately the same as the marquee itself and the matting). But ultimately the choice is down to you.

The marquee can be lit up depending on your choice by either chandeliers or uplighters. The chandeliers suspended from the roof, recreates a traditional candlelight effect whereas the uplighters, spread around the edge of the marquee create a more contemporary feel especially if you use coloured filters.

Heating is very important as no one ever likes being cold. The time of year will determine the number of heaters that you require, in winter you will need more heaters. For this size of marquee we recommend gas cabinet heaters as they are small, unobtrusive, quiet and easily adjustable. A little tip when the weather is cold is to put the heaters on an hour or two before people are due to arrive to get a comfortable ambient temperature from the start.

For your guests to dine on we provide 5’ round tables which will easily sit 10 people. You could use trestle tables to dine on but in our experience round tables are more preferable in allowing guests to talk to more people making it a more enjoyable experience for all. Trestle tables joined in a row are an ideal solution for the head table guests. The chairs provided are standard white bistro chairs but if you wanted something more specific for your wedding these can be provided but may cost a little more (Approximately £3 + VAT)

The parquet dance floor provides the ideal surface for the wedded couple to have their first dance and for your guests to party the night away once the dining has finished. There is also the option of a black and white dance floor if you should prefer it.

There are other things options you may want to take into consideration that are not mentioned in this sample. You may want to add an entrance canopy attached to the front of the marquee where your guests can mingle and maybe enjoy a glass of champagne. If you are catering on site, an additional marquee maybe required to store cooking equipment and to allow space for the preparation of the food.

If there are no facilities near by you may need to think about toilet hire which can range from the simplest tardis style toilet to a deluxe toilet trailer. You may also require a generator for all your electrical needs.

Other services you may want to take into consideration that are not mentioned in this sample to make your wedding truly unique. Things such as DJ’s and sound hire, catering, entertainers of all varieties, hiring in props for themed weddings, flowers, and exotic plants. We can help and advise you with all these to make sure you get what is right for you.

A Wedding Marquee for 200 People

If you are thinking of having a wedding reception for around 200 guests, this is one example of a solution that we can offer for you.

  • One 80’ x 40’ Marquee
  • One 30’ x 30’ entrance canopy
  • One 20’ x 20’ catering marquee
  • Interior linings with night sky over dance floor
  • Wooden floor with carpet throughout
  • Chandeliers and uplighters on a dimmer switch
  • Heating (cabinet heaters)
  • 20 x 5’ round tables
  • 8 x trestle tables
  • 200 x white bistro chairs
  • One16’ x 20’ parquet dance floor

An 80’ x 40’ marquee is the ideal size for your main marquee in that it is not too big making it feel empty or not too small making it feel over crowded. The 30’ x 30‘ entrance canopy is attached to the entrance of the main marquee creating an area where your guests can mingle and maybe enjoy a glass of champagne before the main reception. This area could also be turned into a bar later on.

The type of marquee we use gives you the option to use window walls allowing you to take advantage of any views or surrounding features. If it’s a really hot day you also have the option of opening the marquee walls themselves. The catering marquee would be attached to the marquee at a suitable place to allow your caterers to store cooking equipment and to allow space for the preparation of the food.

On the inside of both marquees, the walls and roofs are covered in beautiful linings to create that luxurious feel. Over the dance floor we would use twinkling nightsky roof linings to help create a party feel for later on. The linings can be trimmed by pelmets and drops around the edges in colours of your choice.

To protect your lawn and also your guest’s shoes, a custom built wooden floor with carpet would be provided throughout. This can be essential if the ground is particularly uneven or if the ground has suffered or is likely to suffer from inclement weather. If you wish to keep the costs down, a matting floor can be provided instead.

The marquees would be lit up with both chandeliers and uplighters both of which would be on dimmer switches allowing you to control the light intensity. In the main marquee, the chandeliers would be suspended above where your guests are dining.  Around the dance floor and below the nightsky effect uplighters will be placed around the edge of the marquee. In the entrance canopy a single chandelier will suspend from the roof providing plenty of light.

Heating is very important as no one ever likes being cold. The time of year will determine the number of heaters that you require, in winter you will need more heaters. For this size of marquee we recommend gas cabinet heaters as they are small, unobtrusive, quiet and easily adjustable.
